The Right dis-Honourable Fassy Orette Bruce Golding

Wow!

A couple minutes mouthing a half-hearted apology, another minute of doing us a favour (throwing us a bone) with the signing of the extradition, a pathetic “mi did waan leave, but dem nevah want me go”, and the rest of the address dedicated to political campaining.

Fassy!

Could not even be decent about it and deliver the address live? NNNOOOOOOOOOO, taped, edited and rehearsed.

Fassy!

Now on the radio and tv I hear many saying that Bruce should do the honourable thing and resign. Since he has not done the honourable thing, we should all request that he no longer be addressed as such.

In addition the word “Honourable” in the official title ought to be officially replaced with “Fassy“!

And it should be left there for the next eediat to take the post, it pretty much applies to the lot of them.

Like a Steppin’ Razor

Mullings gone. The light bulb thing never seem to work out.

Smith gone. Was only a matter of time, figured his health would have been a factor.

McMillan gone. But…was he ever there? What him did in deh a do?

So yeah, they trimmed the cabinet, taking a pay cut, and going to freeze public sector salaries, ok fine.

Now we just waiting to hear how many people a go lose dem work. It’s coming. No way they can be harping on the ‘wage bill’ every other day, and not itching to cut the ‘inefficient’ workforce. All that talk was aimed at impressing on the people how bad it was that we had to be paying these people, so that when they swing the axe, most Jamaicans won’t feel to bad about it.

Now giving the traitor-to-the-trade-union movement the National Security portfolio, is a very clear indication that this guvament has no idea, not a one, of how to deal with crime in this country. Right now it seems that Bruce is giving him bredrin dem a run at ‘playing’ minister, in this grand event of musical chairs.

Vaz get promoted, fi wah!?!

Honestly, dat man does not strike me as having the competence or ability to deal with any serious work. I figure there will be lots of hand holding by the PM or other more sensible cabinet members for him to get anything done.

If at all.

The way how him always accompanying Bruce nearly everywhere, mi did start wonder if a Bruce girlfriend.

The John-Crow gets Mining & Energy.

That’s it!

The man is a john-crow, as evidenced by his public display of john-crow-ism, but as to his ability to do the work as needed, we will wait and see.

Might be the smartest of these latest shuffling.

We’ll see.

Rapists Should be Castrated

They force them selves on women, men, the old, the young, and the just born.

To have such an act perpetrated on you and you have not even seen one year of life on this earth is the most depraved thing.

As far as I am concerned any who would do shit like this has forever given up all claims to any of what we call human rights.

SICKENING.

Shit man, what the fuck wrong with us?

Fighting To See Which Ol’ Foot run tings.

The PNP should forget about winning the next election. They should instead look to flagging out the old bones in the party and introduce fresher faces that hint at some sort of rejuvenation.

Right now they all seem old and tired, to the point that even the younger comrades are aged by the ol foot dem presence.

Not to say you should ditch the stalwarts, but more youthful faces, people with perhaps a more modern outlook on how things run should be given more voice in the party.

The current cass cass is an indication that they don’t get why they lost, people were actually and truly tired of them.

Portia is weak as evidenced by Phillips’ challenge to her, an unprecedented move for sure. And Phillips, “arise and renew”, from what? The grave?

No sah!

Fresh faces now!

The senior members need to step back and realize that if they want to win then their party is more important than their personal ambitions. and the sooner you change, the sooner the party may be victorious at the polls.

Bruce look old and tired already, so does Babsy, Mike Henry and Audley, but they have many younger more vigorous people in prominent positions, both in guvament and party, and therefore don’t seem as stale. Though there are a couple of them who need to put to pasture, <cough>Derrick Smith<cough>.

Pearnel is an Ass!

People are being murdered all over and you can’t take the matter of discussing crime measures seriously?

Dons in Parliament??

What the FUCK!?

Must a politician, preferrably one in guvament be murdered and his family brutalised before you take this matter seriously? Or should we also add that some hotel on the north coast needs to be bombed and place the more important foreigners/tourists in danger before you stop joking around.

And why does Lightbourne feel that sticking up for you makes things any better?

While campaigning for the election the JLP stated that they had a plan witht he necessary steps to put a halt to the violent crime in the society.

We now know that to be lies.

Jamaicans need only hear “free” and you have them eating out of your hands.

sigh

Unnoo Ol’ Vamp’iyaahs!

Draw brakes eediatg!

Mullings surprised me. Snow a go fall!

Calling JPS to task, no disconnections till after December, Damning and blasting the JPS?

SWEET!

Now don’t disappoint me.

Obviously the laws safeguarding Jamaicans against predatory behaviour by the utility companies are weak and toothless. If they weren’t, JPS would already have been penalized for the clearly obvious gouging being perpetrated on its customers.

Instead the Prime Bruce orders a probe, and as most Jamaicans are painfully aware, probes evaporate into nothingness, leaving the wrong-doers free.

Every JPS customer should get the next three month’s bills half off!

Guarantees that anytime they attempt to suck the little we have from us, they will be made to pay for it.

Not going to happen, Bruce won’t do it. In fact no politician would, the people of this country don’t matter to guvament at all.

Not even during elections, because at that time they only matter to the party.

A couple things to ask:

Have any in the upper-class/people of influence ever received such outlandish utility bills? Or is it only people least able to file lawsuits or otherwise defend themselves that get these high bills

If they get them, do they just pay it anyway?

If they do so, is it because they cant bother with querying it, or that its still small change to them? Never hear a peep out of them on this matter.

With the cost of everything so high and people finding it really difficult to manage, why has the guvament not stormed the gates of the JPS in righteous anger? Like how they cling to Bolt for the publicity, this too would have given them a huge boost to their approval rating. “See? We care.”

Only unrealistic people would bash them for their performance in their first year, but this high light bill issue is so easy to latch onto for them to be already milking it for all the good publicity they could get.

Sadly the PNP too busy cutting their throats to determine who should lead the party with no power in running the country.

Not sure about this but I hear that under the law, even if we could independently power our homes, we are still required to take (dis)service from the JPS.

If a so, then is one rass eediat set of a politicians that made that law.

If a so, then is another  rass eediat set of politicians that do not do away with this shitty law.

Dealing with all this crap sober is hell!

The purpose of liquor is a just one.

Bring on another round!

More “Jabs”!

The Jamaican workforce is hemorrhaging more workers, from the “jabs jabs and more jabs” to the belly.

Goodbye NHDC.

It must really be the worst thing to lose your job at a time when the extremely high cost of living has us by the throat.

hmmm….

Unless they are getting rid of people they think might be PNP supporters to later replace them with JLP supporters, therefore it should be “jobs jobs and more jobs…for labourites”.

If so, this would be a criminal act.

But no that couldn’t be it.

Not at all.

Right?

Dis one have a gun! Dat one have a gun!…

The jokers purchased weapons to outfit the Jamaica Constabulary Force from an illegal arms dealer.

So….

…When are the eediats responsible going to be looking for a next line of work?

Specifically the eediats at the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Finance, Those in the Police High Command and whomever else had a hand in this mess.

Sadly in our cronyistic society no one will be held responsible.

Supporters of political parties love to claim how their party is better than the other. When in opposition they say the right things (specifically to further their political gain), and when in guvament they practice the same shit they railed against.

Making questionable deals, circling the wagons, downplaying the breach of trust and protecting their own.

sigh…

We Have No Behaviour

Granted the authorities planned Bolt’s homecoming very poorly, but why is it Jamaicans can’t behave themselves?

Jumping on the car, standing in the path of the vehicle, looking more like they were going to tear him apart, and the general disorder of it all.

Watching the event(s) on the news last night was very embarrassing in two key areas:
1. The event was poorly planned. The arrival the journey and the press conference was so poorly done, I cringed at it all.

2. Jamaicans once again displaying their lack of proper upbringing in how they carried on. I can understand jubilation. Really, I can, but the recklessness displayed was most disturbing and once again made me realise how far we are going to have to climb, to become the Jamaica most people would be proud of.

But all that is bad and nuh suh bad but then CVM TV showed the homecoming for the Olympic athletes in Trinidad.

Well planned.

Suitable venue.

Orderly yet glee-full spectators.

A more open, more genial atmosphere than the one for Bolt.

Oh, and smaddy better check Bruce pulse, the difference between him and the more alive looking Patrick Manning was quite jarring as well.

P.S.
Did the entire cabinet need to have been out at the airport?
Dem nuh have work to do?
Whole heap a people life just get wash weh!

P.P.S
Is this poorly done homecoming another example of how mediocre we’ve become?
Or do we just don’t care anymore?

The Bitch Whimpers Yet Again

Patience is a virtue.

Too true.

Now while all were voicing their opinions about the American Airlines bail-in, I watched and waited for the obligatory headline or article that would demonstrate what a disgrace to journalism the Observer is. Perhaps the headlines these past couple of days were indicative of what i was looking for, but to me they seemed too subtle, so I waited some more.

Today (2008/09/08), there the headline is:

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/html/20080908T000000-0500_139942_OBS_BUTCH_GIVES_AA_DEAL_THUMBS_UP.asp

Having totally removed his cap as Air Jamaica chairman and having his friends in guvament, and feeling the need to use the medium under his control to promote the guvaments policies, he just couldnt resist.

Ask anybody and most will tell you that if he was still Air Jamaica chairman he’d be pissed.

The guvament plans to sell Air Jamaica next year, if i was a prospective buyer, this American Airlines bail-in and Shirley Williams still tainting the board with her presence, i’d immediately ask them to gimme a 20% discount on the price.

Jamaicans Implicated in Doping Ring

Sports Illustrated today posted a story about performance enhancers being shipped to addresses associated with two of Jamaica’s athletes.

See Below:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/more/09/02/jamaican.track/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

Now the story never says that they actually received the shipment themselves or that they used them, only that the drugs were shipped to addresses associated with them. But saying “Two Jamaican hurdlers implicated in steroid ring” for your headline makes it seem as if they were caught popping pills or with needles stuck in their bums.

Another thing, while reading the article, I could almost feel their disappointment that it wasn’t any of our gold medal winners, especially Bolt, that was “implicated”.

2006 to 2007.

over the Internet where credit card and address data can be tracked? If a so it really go then they are idiots who will never run for Jamaica again.

Post Gustav

What a whole heap a rain?!

Not much breeze, thank God! Can’t stand the howling wind when me a try sleep at all.

But man, that was a lot of water.

Hope when dem rebuild the bridge a Harbour View dem do it proper. Serious work and planning is needed to address the Bog Walk gorge. not a viable road way at all if every storm that passes mash it up so.

Feel it for the families of the people who lost their lives.

Though, the guy who was picking breadfruit in the high breeze was crazy.

Talk bout crazy, for decades every Jamaican was warned and informed of the dangers of building your homes on the banks of gullies or rivers. Many of us ignored those warnings, even building two storey constructs right on the gully edge and on the river banks. Now some of their houses have gone down river, sadly taking a few people with them. But now some of these har-of-hearing people are demanding guvament bail them out.

Helping you in troubling times? OK.

Finding new location and rebuilding your house? NOT A RASS!!

You were warned.

We were all warned.

A government is not there to  mind your personal business, especially when you frig up, but to mind the country’s business. And the country’s business does not extend to supporting careless people who ignored very sound advice.

P.S.
Why are people swimming in the dirty polluted water?

Are they really so clueless of the dangers?

I suppose when they get sick they go demand the guvament mind dem too.

How Come?

The OUR has proven again to be of no use to the people of Jamaica. Perhaps they truly cannot do anything to help with the exorbitant light bills, but when have they ever made decisions to the benefit of the public?

When it comes to okaying rate increases, they seem to do so without hesitation. Maybe they should become THEIR instead of OUR.

One thing THEIR could do is put forward or lobby for legislation stating that all bills not exceed a billing period of thirty (30) days. Ten (10) extra days on your bill is asking for fully one third (1/3) more of money from our pockets. Money, that with the increase in the cost of living, we hardly possess.

JPS made a sizable profit last fiscal year and from indications are not starving for money, but i bet you that when they next ask for a rate increase, despite the hardship we now face, despite the unbelievable burden we now near, the THEIR will give their friends in the utility company the go ahead to turn the screws some more.

Something must be wrong if the customers are made to pay for the errors the utilities make. A monthly bill is suddenly five times your regular bill, you have no way to see that this obvious cock-up is reversed. NOOOOO! you are to pay it and they will sort it out later. Yes so that the money you spend to pay this huge bill is sitting in the banks for months, earning interest for them to later not refund you, for them to say no mistake was made, or to even tell you that you owe more.

Usually they cite billing errors they were making on your bill, for  years in some cases, and now they adjust the billing they decide that it some how is ok for them to demand a monstrous sum from you to clear it up. Why the rass must the customer now pay to fix the fuck-up of the utility company?

How the hell is that fair?

How they hell is this allowed?

Why is this allowed?

Is it that we don’t want to scare investors from the island, or some such shit? When have you ever seen the originating countries of these companies allow them to abuse their citizens in their homeland?

Such shit should not be allowed here!
